The wild animals we see around here are squirrels, rabbits, and an occasional deer. Images have appeared on my blogs from time to time. We see the ground hog every now and then, but it disappears quickly into the weeds or its hole. So I bring you a selection of animals from the Washington National Zoo taken in 1989. (These images scanned from 35mm film.)

That's great that you still have the pics from back then. I have lost almost all the pictures I took from the film days.
I need to get to a zoo. I think it is good fun already, but add a camera, and now we're talking superfun!!
Very nice! I so wish I had a scanner for all my pre-2009 images (I have a TON). I love zoo images; you have some nice ones.
I, too, would have to do a real search for earlier images. I did not have a digital when we went to Russia, and a very early one -- 2 megapixels or was it 1.2 when I went to India. My year in Europe is on slides stashed somewhere in the house, but the slide projector is long nonfunctioning. I also have a trunkful of my Dad's slides from various trips he and Mom took. What to do with them?
Lew: Fun shots from the zoo.
Oooooo....35mm photos!
What a memory-maker to see these.
I loved my 35mm camera...loved the sound of the shutter.
And...I wish you could see how many giraffes I have around here. (Not literally....but images, papier mache...bookmarks, etc.) I love 'em!
So, that giraffe photo made me smile really big!
Lovely,
Jackie
