Header Challenge - Bridges

Bridges was my choice for the theme this week. Loy's Station bridge is one of three historic covered bridges in Frederick County. It was originally built around 1860, reinforced with steel beams and center pier in the 1930's, rehabilitated in 1976, and rebuilt after a fire in 1994. Much of the work to rebuild was done by volunteers. It was damaged again last October, but quickly repaired.

Header Challenge - Curves

Christine chose "curves" for the header challenge this week. So I looked around the house and neighborhood for subjects. My header is a pair of bookends (without the books) with the curves of a nautilus. Blue curves in our bedroom and the curve of a cat snoozing in the sun.

The curve of flower bed and the gentle curves of the trees now blooming

And last, the reflected curves on the hood and fender of the van.

Our World - Spring is finally here!

The jonquils came first, but now we have left the freezing temperatures behind and the other flowers are showing their stuff. Rose bushes have put out leaves and blooms will soon follow.

Sky Watch - Cold sunrise

The rain moved on, but the cold stayed for the sunrise, creating contrails from the outbound jets. Warmer this afternoon and spring weather is promised for the next few days.

Header Challenge - Don't rock the boat

At Greenbrier Lake in the summer there are boats that require paddles to navigate and rocking the boat is discouraged by the life guards on the shore. The "boat" in my header is certainly an easy one to rock, but this lady made the trip without getting wet. A couple of years ago the boys and I torued the lake in one of the paddle boats (NO rocking allowed!).

Our World - Grandsons visit

Our two youngest grandsons came for a visit this week. Their visit was short as they have snow days to make up. We flew their airplane in the wind.

They built things with their magnetic blocks.

And Lewis suggested they celebrate my birthday with a cake which they help my daughter make.

Thanks all! It was a delightful visit, just too short!

Header Challenge - Night light

My header is night light from far away - sun light bounced off the moon and to my Nikon. The images below are light at night closer to home. I also put another moon shot header on Lew's pics
