Here are some shots of our resident groundhog that lives in a hole (actually several holes connected by tunnels) in the field behind our house. The first two shot were taken in October from inside when he scampered to the neighbors yard to grab an apple and sat in the sun enjoying his meal. Then he climbed up the tree to pose for a face shot. Then two weeks ago I spotted him wandering out in the winter wheat. As he headed back to the hole near the fence, he kept an eye to the sky where two turkey vultures were circling at the far end of the field.

Cute little critters they are! I surely hope they don't get frightened by their shadow this year -- with winter hitting us soooo early I surely don't want spring delayed!!! Hope your week is going well, Lew! Enjoy!

Great photos and post . Thank you
Lew -- I had no idea groundhogs climbed trees. That's the third new thing I've learned today. I forget what the other two were. LOL
Loved the pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

I've only really seen raccoons and squirrels in trees. This is a cute fella!
Sweet resident! Hope you don't have a garden.
