Our World - Friends

Claudia and Marianne have been friends for a long time, but visits have been sparse with us in Maryland and Claudia in New York. They spent the week catching up on the past few years. Another friend from Harpers Ferry joined us for dinner one night.

We visited Gettysburg National Cemetery and the park, site of the turning point in the US civil war. Lincoln's Gettysburg address is on the right plaque. The invitation to Lincoln to attend and speak is on the left.

Saturday was "Dog Days of Summer" in Frederick and we took a stroll along Carroll Creek, enjoying the warm end of summer, the water lilies,

 the dogs large and small,

the kids doing flips,

and this little one feeding the ducks.

Hi Lew - were you the thorn among the roses? It looks like a lovely reunion of friends. That photo you captured of the flip is outstanding.

So nice to catch up with old friends. I was able to do that this summer and really appreciate it.
Super photo of the boy in mid-air, Lew. He's in focus and everything! Good work!
