My World Tuesday - Feeding birds

These first two images were taken in Connecticut from Big E's dining room. She has quite a flock of finches and other small birds that visit her feeder throughout the day.

Marianne had ordered a hummingbird feeder as the flowers we have were not attracting the birds like last year. After seeing the finches at Big E's, we also got a second feeder to attract them. They have been slow to find the feeder and Sunday was the first male goldfinch that I saw. Marianne has seen two humming birds, but I have only seen one. They only stay at the feeder for a couple of quick sips. If the camera is not within reach there is no image to post

Oh, what lovely birds, Lew! Such lovely colors. Marvelous shots! Love the bird feeders, too. Have a great week.

This could be my back garden. One thing that relaxes me on a hard day is watching the array of birds we have on the feeders. No chance of us getting a hummingbird though.

I love bird watching at the feeder! Hang in there, the birds will find your second feeder. Loved your shots. Wonderful.

Wow, lovely photos. I suppose there's no shutter speed fast enough to freeze the hummingbird's wings.

Lew, nice that that the humming bird actually was still, for that one shot!

Our hummingbirds were slow to come regularly this year, but it seems this week they are quite active. I envy your goldfinches. Our house finches are extremely plentiful, and not too bright!

Great idea to have a feeder that has individual seating so there is not such a problem with squabbling.

Impressive activity! Maybe I ought to buy one so that I can both learn more about birds and about the photography of birds.
