For most of my photography I let the camera decide on the exposure and shutter speed. Some sky shots I took Monday looked a little dull so I applied Photoshop Auto Color Correction, with the result below.

For shots of the moon, I usually go with manual mode (200 mm lens) and bracket the exposure until I get a useable image. I then use Photoshop to crop the image and make adjustments. (Occasionally I will get out the tripod and longer exposures.)

A bit of Photoshop (or similar) never hurts, as you have shown here. Well done with the "handheld" moon!
BTW there is is "100-rule" for taking photos of the moon: ISO 100, 1/100 sec and aperture 11. You have to use manual settings of course. And a tripod. That usually gives a very nice result.
I was going to show a moon shot today too but for some reason could not lift it into photoshop. Love the rain bearing clouds.
Sometimes you need that little help of photo shop. Nice shots have a great weekend
