The storms that swept across the US last week leaving much destruction in the south brought us wind and rain on Saturday. There was some wind damage a few miles east and flooding all around. The ground was saturated from earlier rains and Saturday's rain quickly ran down stream from the hills to the Monocacy River. Twenty roads were closed in the county Saturday and Sunday morning. The second and last shots are looking across the farm behind our house. The third and fourth are Carroll Creek and the fifth is a recreational are beside the Monocacy.

Very good sequence of photos. From fully flooded to oh so damp and squishy.
We have had quite the wet Winter all across the USA this year.
Some places have too much of a good thing and areas of Texas and New Mexico would dearly love some of that water.
Good shots from the storm and aftermath of the storm.
It does seem as though there isn't a happy medium as Martha has written! So very dry in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico -- and then there's your area! I'm glad you've been spared any damage! Terrific captures, Lew, really does show the enormous amount of water everywhere! Wishing you and your family a very Happy and Blessed Easter! Enjoy!

I'm glad the water has gone down!
Oh my I hope the water is gone and enjoy the green scenery and the blue sky. Happy weekend!

Photos like these really bring the reality home to those of us who were on the other side of the world when the storms happened. Well done, Lew.
I'm glad the land was able to absorb the water. When we get flooding here (and we do) on the desert part of the prairie, where the ground is hard clay, it takes a long time to dry up.

Great series of shots - now that is some rain!!
Boy, does this all look like my part of the world last week. In 48 hours the creeks were back to normal but we still have a lot of water standing in the fields and around the houses. The forecasts for more rain....oh, NO! It was a nice day today do really took advantage of it. Loved the “no soccer” caption. We heard that here, too...along with "no lacrosse."
Now, that is some serious flooding. I hope the water has all receded now. Great captures, Lew! Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!
No soccer indeed. We had quite a bit of rain, and some hail, here yesterday. Very nicely captured "Wet Sky". I like that term.
The weekend was very destructive with all the storms in our area. Glad the flood waters have gone down and things can dry out! You live in a beautiful part of Md. Great pics!
I love the green, green pasture. but that flooding is somewhat scary!
I have The Sky in my IDLENESS entry; hope you can visit me too! :)
