Window Views - Windows needed

A house under construction is not unusual. What is unusual is that high school students are building this one. Frederick County Public Schools, through its Career and Technology Education programs, offers students hands on training, with preparation for certification in skilled trades. The students in the construction program build about one house a year, which is sold and the funds used to buy materials for the next house.

I spotted this old building a year or so ago and thought it unusual that it had a new roof and sky lights, but no windows (or siding!). I don't know the original purpose of the building or what the plans are for it. Below you can see more detail of the construction and the stepladder inside.

Some great shots Lew. That's pretty amazing about the kids building a house. Good for them!

The first one reminded me that MS has just released a new beta of Windows 7, but that last one was great!!

Love the last two, Lew. There is something about old buildings that photographers can't pass up.

Great little piece on the students. Kudos for them.

Are you about to get washed away over there? I expect to see a lot of people rowing our way if the rain does not stop.

What a cool idea about the kids building a house to shape up their trades. I never heard that before. The questions is if I would trust their hands and buy a house like that ;o)

Nice restoration going on. It is especially nice to see next to the newe construction above. Someday those same young builders may be involved in such restoration.

Both of these buildings are fascinating and I love that the windows have no windows!
