I also want to plug another group of sky watchers who post a photo and explanation every day. I have enjoyed this site of a daily basis for several years. These photographers have much grander cameras then we do, although they sometimes use everyday cameras. The site is Astronomy Picture of the Day hosted by NASA with contributors from around the world. The following links will give you an idea of the breadth of photos posted on this site.

Sky Watch Friday - Full moon and clouds
This sequence of pictures of the full moon was taken on the night of September 15 between 10:00 and 10:30 PM EDT. I had gone out earlier to try to capture the harvest moon rising, but the clouds intervened, so no photos of a big, orange moon over the fields. The streaks in the second photo are the wingtip lights of a passenger jet headed for Baltimore.

what an impressive sky!
Awesome catch..... Great job! Reminds me the saying,,,, We never know how high we are, till we are called to ris; and then, if we are true to plan, our statures touch the sky... Happy Skywatch! Hope you can visit my SWF entry too...

Wow! The most dramatic set so far.
love the photos... I love the nasa site too! and your gas only jumped 20 cents ours went from 349 to 525 in less than 30 hours as of yesterday many many gas stations around here are completely out and lines are insane with people waiting two hours or more to get gas... I told my son go in the middle of the night when most are sleeping... It is back down to 388 here if you can find any....

Good sequence of pictures - been a fan of the NASA site for years - my wife visits it most nights but I only do so about every couple of months - good to be reminded of it.
