YEP! Started last night, a little after midnight it was covering the ground. This morning 5 - 6 inches, schools closed, and snow plows out. No occupants for our new bird house yet. Robins seem to like the snow.

Sky Watch - After the storm
Wednesday afternoon a fast and furious storm passed over us with strong winds and brief, but heavy rain. The western sky cleared with blue sky and fluffy clouds.

Looking southwest at sunset, the last of the clouds, while southeast (below) was still stormy. The wind stayed strong and blew in frigid air, making for a cold, windy Thursday.

Header Challenge - Almost Perfect
Yesterday was my 74-th birthday. The birthday cards above arrived in yesterday's mail along with many more birthday wishes on Facebook, telephone and email. We had a quiet dinner at home (Bonefish Grill, Pat, no noodles). The weather was delightful: 70 degrees and sunny. The day was almost perfect! Perfect would be if those well wishers had also been here.

Our World - Almost Spring
The snow is gone from the fields and the crocus are out in full force. I wandered around the yard without a jacket today to get these shots.

Header Challenge - The shape of Art
Too cold and snowy for a trip to the Smithsonian or National Gallery of Art this week, so I am sharing some of the art here in our own little gallery. Our collection comes in various shapes and sizes, some is new and some has been here a while. Marianne has an eye for things that will fit in well with our home.
First, on the table in our living room art in a variety of shapes.
The statues of a man and a woman have returned to our mantle as the Christmas and winter decor has been put away.
We have collected some southwestern pottery on our trips to Colorado.
Here is a bowler from our days on a bowling team, and his shadow.
And now about my header. I recently rediscovered this poem by Frederick Windsor that I had written on a note pad some time ago.
Flappity, floppity, flip

It seem to fit the theme this week so I made a mobius strip and found a mouse (a gift form Marianne). I also found this link to the Mobius Arch Moonrise.

Our World - More snow
Six inches or so of snow this morning, so my snow blower and
I tackled it a little after noon. The walk and part of the driveway behind the
pipes was soon done. It took a little more time to clean off the van and snow
at the end of the driveway. Pipes? In the driveway? Yep, still there! The
county folks were planning to start the sewer main repair today, but apparently
filling a sinkhole with snow is not the best solution, so the stuff will be
pumped for a while longer.
