Header Challenge - Reflections

I have been doing a meme featuring reflections on my "Lew's pics" blog for several years, so reflections are in my folders of images. When Craver hinted it might be a good candidate for a header I took his suggestion.The east and west (shown in header) ends for the building are different from the street side. This building first appeared on Lew's Pics

in 2008.

 

The north side reflects the parking garage across the street.

These two reflections were taken in the parking area across the street from my header.

Our World - More Creek work

The Carroll Creek flood control project created a linear park along the bed of the creek and the underground carriers of the flood waters. The project starts at the edge of Baker Park (above) on the west side of the business district and ends near the fair grounds on the east side. A linear park was created along the section from Baker Park to East Street. Work has now begun on the section from East Street to Patrick Street. In addition to creating a park like setting, redevelopment of some of the buildings is planned, with addition businesses and restaurants.

Header Challenge - Vertical

Christine chose vertical as the theme for this week. I chose Yosemite Valley as the starting point for a header. There is lots of "vertical" there and it is all beautiful. We visited there for several days back in 1990, walking around the valley looking up, looking down from Glacier Point, and driving across the top to leaving via Tioga pass.

Ous World - Old cannery

The Monocacy Valley Canning Company operated on the edge of the Frederick business district during the first half of the 20-th century. Recently, the old building was restored and expanded to accommodate new businesses. The renovation and expansion is now complete, but yet to be occupied.

Header Challenge - Something RED

Mac asked us to post a header of something red. My sister had sent us a Christmas gift which sprouted and produced this red flower (along with some white blooms). This bloom had become too heavy for its stem and I cut it and placed it on the window sill in a glass of water. My header was taken in late afternoon with the sun casting a long shadow and bright rays scattered by the glass. I place a black cloth under the flower for the above shot. (Note: this is one of the few times I also posted the same images on Lew's Favorites.)

I have seen the Canada geese fly over heading for fields near us, but this was the first time in several years they chose to land on the farm behind us.

Header challenge - Spare time

 

Cats are masters of the use of spare time! And as you can see on my header we have plenty of spare time. My abundance of spare time began a few years ago upon retirement and I highly recommend accepting the offer when it is presented to you. There is time to

 do a sudoku (and sometimes a crossword also);

 watch the birdies in the snow;

 and take pictures!
