Kathy chose summer solstice as the theme for this week's header challenge. Our house faces north, with neighbors and trees to the west, east and north. An open farm field is to the south, so the changes in the sun's position are very noticeable this time of year. My header and next two shots show the late afternoon sun filtering through the trees from north and west of our front yard. And below are more visual signs that summer is nigh.
Clematis in bloom always means summer is here.
And the water lilies are blooming on Carroll Creek.
The moon is higher in the sky on its nightly pass.

I admire those water-lilies. Just when summer has finally arrived, one gets reminded that Christmas is just half-a-year away ...
Summer flowers, shadows and The Moon shining bright Lew.
Neat post my friend.
I like that shadow self-portrait.
Lew: Neat photos of the homestead for your Summer post. I really enjoyed the water lilies.
The light is the thing, isn't it? I was reminded of this yesterday when my traveling niece from Southern California was amazed at sunlight still at 8 p.m. in Portland OR. When we visited Siberia in June-July, we never saw dark.
