Header Challenge - Red and green

When Tom chose red and green as the theme for this week's header, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. And that was our Charlie Brown Christmas tree that Marianne bought years ago. It is about 16 inches (40 cm) high, with a single red ornament. I had the header ready Sunday. Then the Christmas Eve snow fell and suddenly I had a second green and red image for a header. I asked Marianne which she liked and she liked both. So this week I changed two headers. The one above is for your vote, but you can see the other one on Lew's pics.

 

There are plenty of choices of red and green this time of year, perhaps a bit of our Christmas tree or some of the snacks.

Our World - Christmas Eve snow

The winter strom that dropped lots of snow across the US reached us with a little snow and fog. Maybe 2 inches fell and the temp is around freezing, so the snow is not likely to stay long. More snow is expected Thursday.

Sky Watch - Clearing skies

On Tuesday our skies were clearing. Today the clouds are back and dropping water, but not the white stuff that hit the folks west of here with blizzard conditions.

Header Challenge - Almost a great shot

Earlier in December our cats got very interested in something in the front yard. I glanced out and saw two squirrels chasing around trunk of the tree. By the time I got my camera. The squirrels had stopped on opposite sides of the tree and I got individual shots of them. Then I zoomed wider to get both.

Our World - Holiday windows

Windows in Frederick are decorated for the holidays, And these also have reflections of buildings on the other side of the street. A night shot of the first one also appeared on my Header challenge post last week. 

Sky Watch - Spires in the sky

My camera is acting up and not wanting to click the shutter. So, here are two shots from April. Above is a shot of the twin spires of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and below the spire of Trinity Chapel. The third shot was taken last Saturday.

Header Challenge - Holiday Images in the town square

The intersection of Market and Patrick Streets is the town square of the City of Frederick. My header looks across the square last Saturday night with light rain falling and holiday decorations in place. The above image looks north on Market Street and people are still out around 9:00 PM.  

 

Nearby store windows are decorated for the Christmas season in hopes that we will venture inside and spend a little cash.

 

 

And a block north of the square, the twin spires of the Lutheran Church pierce the night.

 

Our World - Decorating

Last week we got the outside of the house decorated for the Christmas holidays. Marianne is doing the down stairs. I started the living room. This year we are doing the small tree. Lots of ornaments from which to choose. More shots next week.

Header Challenge - Lines & curves at home

Last Spring we had our kitchen remodeled. Marianne had ideas on what she wanted in the kitchen and it took a little while to find and select all the features. Brian and his crew took about 5 weeks to remove the old and install the new. We are pleased with the results and have bunches of clean lines and curves to enjoy. Our World - Holiday preparations

Marianne suggested wreaths for the windows this year, so we got some at Home Depot. She filled some flower pots with greenery, pine cones and balls for the porch.

I made a swag for the door and

we have our outdoor decorations in place.
