Last Friday as I was cutting the grass, I spotted the Goodyear blimp near the Federick airport. The blimp seemed to be doing touch and go landings as it dipped below the trees and reappeared to circle around again. Later Friday evening I took the below shot of the moored blimp and then got a couple more shots Saturday moring. I think it was here to provide television coverage of the Preakness horse race in Baltimore.

As a child in southern California I often saw blimps, now it is a rare treat.
Hiya Lew,
Nice to see a different take on skywatch.
I always find these blimps a little threatening. Are there people inside or is it all remote control?
Oh, these are a rare treat these days and I do love them! I got to see one here not too long ago and it was such fun to be able to get a shot! Yours are terrific, Lew!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Oh cool Lew! Wouldn't it be fun go up in a blimp!
Hi Lew, great shots of the blimp. I could see the blimp from the Baltimore beltway on Saturday. It was covering the Preakness.
That is unique, never seen one. Great captures.
Once, since 1962, we saw this blimp passing by in our sky. Don't know much about where it was going or coming to or from.
We also saw a hot air balloon once since 1962. It was the most recent.
These are nice shots you posted.
