Autumn may be in the air in some places and hurricanes are churning up the Atlantic, but not here. Friday was the sixtieth over 90 degrees F (32 C) day in the Washington area this summer. That is not a record (yet) - 67 90+ days is the record. Our heat pump is in the sun until noon, but the sensor underneath in the shade.
Thursday afternoon our porch thermometer recorded a cool 92 in the shade. Cooler weather is forecast for Saturday, and our 90-degree days may be over, but for now our Hot Hot Hot flag will fly!.

And here in Texas, the weather guy siad fall had arrived -- because the forecast high was *only* 90! It's all relative, I guess. Have a great labor day weekend!
I do not miss those Washington summers. It's been 90 degrees at my house once this summer. That's the same number of 90-degree days we had last summer.
I live in a tropical country so we get a lot of sun here.
