I worked in the Balston area of Arlington, VA from 1996 to October 2007. This view is to the east with the Washington monument in the distance. For most of these 11 years there were about a dozen construction cranes visible to the east and southeast. In 2005, several of the these building were recently completed and not fully occupied. On the corner of N. Glebe Rd and N. Fairfax Dr., a smaller building was demolished and a new building went up. As they were finishing the hole for the foundation, I decided to start photographing the construction.
