PhotoHunt - Looking down at Yosemite
During a visit to Yosemite in 1990, we looked down from Glacier Point to the falls and valley below. Above is Upper Yosemite Fall. Next are Nevada and Vernal falls. And finally the camping area below. Our tent was off to the right of the last image. (Images scanned from prints)

Sky Watch - Airship
Last Friday as I was cutting the grass, I spotted the Goodyear blimp near the Federick airport. The blimp seemed to be doing touch and go landings as it dipped below the trees and reappeared to circle around again. Later Friday evening I took the below shot of the moored blimp and then got a couple more shots Saturday moring. I think it was here to provide television coverage of the Preakness horse race in Baltimore.

My World - Redecorated
One wall in our family room was a family picture wall. When we had some work done to the room a while back we put all the pictures in storage. Marianne wanted a cohesive theme for the picture wall. We bought new frames for all of the hanging pictures and a she found a few decorative items finished the bookcase and wall. Marianne also added some touched to our guest room (below). The wall shelves we had, but had not used. Some items on the shelves we had, a few are new. The family crest (needle point) was made by my sister-in-law and moved from the family room to its place here.

PhotoHunt - Cluttered with photos
Awhile back we took down all of the pictures in our family room for some remodeling (the tiled wall, mantle and cabinets seen above). We decided May was the month the family portraits had to get back on the wall, with new frames (and two new family members). For a few days we lived with boxes, pictures and frames cluttering every surface. Final result will be shown on My World post next Tuesday.

Sky Watch - Rainbow, rain, bright, dark
Our skies have been varied this spring with storms often blowing past, though not as ferocious as the ones across the southern US. Tuesday afternoon, the sun popped out and I went out to get shots of the clearing sky. As I took the above shot a gentle rain began to fall and I was pleased to get a faint rainbow. The next shot was taken of the rain with "sports" setting and the third with "auto" (click to enlarge). The last two shots were taken Wednesday afternoon about 2 hours apart.

My World - 1-st Saturday in May
The first Saturday in May was "Mayfest" celebrating spring evens and the arts. Due to some home projects (to be featured in a future My World post), my time downtown was short. One of the highlights for me was meeting a fellow blogger and professional photographer, Bill Adkins. I found his blog A Year on Market a few weeks after it started and have enjoyed his view of a street that I have also photographed. He includes people, events, architecture and small details in his blog. A slide show of his year was running and prints on display (see below). He said the blog was his fun photography, while pictures of people and events put the kids through college. He is continuing the blog and expanding his are to include the rest of the historic section of Frederick.
Elsewhere, there was music, high scollers out for dinner before the Prom and free rides on the trolley.

Window Views - Candy Kitchen
Images of the candy Kitchen in downtown Frederick have appeared on my blogs in the past. The window displays are always interesting and the candy is delicious.
They also sell figurines. I usually take a shot of this window anytime I walk past the store, because from the right angle there is glorious reflection!.
