The clouds in the southeastern sky began to show color Tuesday afternoon. This sequence was taken between 8:14 and 8:53 EDT as the color brightened and then faded. A few lightening flashes were seen (but not photographed) as the clouds drifted further to the east.

Wow - I could watch those clouds all evening long.
The best sunset photos are very often shot AFTER the sun has set - like these.
Dear "Mr. Forbes"
Great progression of sunset. I like the composition in photo #1 where it is just about 50/50 earth sky.

Love to watch a sunset unfold before my very eyes..Great shots Lew!
I enjoyed seeing this series, imagining I was there.
lovely clouds Lew, I love the way seem to disappear in the last photo.
It is amazing how you capture the orange colour slowly taking over the white.
wonderful SkyWatch photo

I love the perspective and distance you got on the clouds. It gives me a sense of their majesty. The colors are nearly layered! Cool.
