The kids (and adults too) were having a grand time in Baker Park last weekend! The weather has been more like late spring this week.

My World - A touch of Spring

The fields are turning green; crocus and daffodils are blooming; dogwood buds are reaching for the sun; and I am cleaning the other flowerbeds. Spring is here!

My World - Spring arrives

This shot was taken about 4 hours after the vernal equinox (1732 UTC March 20). The shadows are pointing directly east. The crocus were photographed last Tuesday and the daffodils on Saturday. The lilac buds and sedum were taken on Monday. We had a few warm days in the 70's, but now it is cool and cloudy.

My World Tuesday - spring has sprung

After starting to feel like spring out side then NOT, we jumped straight to June with temperatures in the 90's this weekend.
Over the past week our cherry trees went to full bloom;

the dogwood blooms opened wide;

the lilacs bloomed;

the oak trees showed some green;

and dropped pollen over everything below!

My World Tuesday - Frederick blooming

Today started out cold at out house with ice on the bushes and this weeping maple that is just starting to open its leaf buds.

But around the City of Frederick trees are blooming. Two shots from the south side of town. Looking north on Market Street (above) and this perfectly pink weeping specimen around the corner.

And two on the north side. This tree got a trim last year, but is showing some blooms and another tree lined street.
