Sidewalk art

One of the activities we have for the young set is a bucket of chalk sticks. As Winston and Lewis were drawing on the sidewalk, Winston decided we all should participate. The first five images are by artists aged two to seventy-one. Lewis was fascinated by Ginny's drawing. Bryson (last image) got a private lesson from Ginny later.

My World - Busy

I have been away from my computer for a few days. We were invaded by three doses of cuteness with unbounded energy! On Sunday Grandsons Winston and Lewis arrived first (along with their Mom, my youngest daughter). Great-grandson Bryson arrived during the night Wednesday (along with his Mom and Uncle). In between, my eldest daughter arrived. She is retiring from the US Army after 24 years of service. The three little ones (five, two and one years old) kept us (and my camera) active and entertained.

My World - Birthday bedlam

Our great-grandson had his first birthday party last weekend and we joined in the celebration, along with other family and friends of his Mom and Dad. Also included were the friends children. These three girls had a delightful time helping with unwrapping the presents. Bryson preferred to quietly explore one thing at a time ignoring the action around him.

My World - More Christmas baby

Christmas Eve wearing Daddy's hat

I planned to post these Christmas images of Bryce last week, but preempted them when Beth stopped by for a surprise visit. Our Great Grandson delighted us over Christmas with his curiosity and intense interest in all that was happening. I had forgotten just how fast the little ones develop and the range of interest and abilites they have.

This is interesting!

My World - Great grandson

We went south to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Marianne's family in South Carolina. We stayed with our Christy this time and had family meals with Jim and Tammy. But the center of attention throughout was Bryce, our 5-month-old great grandson.

Window Views - Hospital windows

Our oldest grand child presented us with our first great grand child last week. Our first view of Bryce was through the window to the nursery. Scroll down for more pictures of Bryce. And here is a view of the sky through a window near the nursery.

My World - First Great Grand child

Day 2: First look

After about 24 hours of trying the old fashioned way, our first Grandchild delivered our first Great Grandson, Bryce, by C-section the morning of June 15. We arrived late afternoon on the 16-th. Our first look was through the window in the door to the nursery. We did get a brief visit (one at a time) inside the nursery. On the 17-th Bryce was brought to the room for feedings and visiting with us and other aunts, uncles and grand parents. On the 18-th Mother and son went home.

Day 5: Frowning at Grandpa

On the 19-th, Bryce was much more alert and interested in his surroundings. After his feeding grandpa Jim picked him up and he looked like he was going to fuss. As Jim talked to him, his look changed to one of interest and he watched closely. His eyes seemed to be taking it all in. I was taking pictures and reached up to give the ceiling fan a little push. His eyes followed it and watched the fan for a few moments before returning his gaze to Jim.
