Sepia Scenes - Santa's train

Santa's train ran 'round and 'round our Christmas tree this year, much to the delight of our grandsons. (The sleigh would have been riding on dry ground.)

Our World - Toys for Tots

The local US Marine Corps Reserves, supported by businesses and other groups, have long sponsor a drive to make Christmas  for kids whose families may be struggling financially. Last Saturday, they were at the Wal-Mart near us. Radio station WFRE was broadcasting  and Harley-Davidson of Frederick provided transportation for the collected toys. In addition to operations like this, there are over a hundred drop-off boxes in businesses around Frederick.

A few toys from us to add.

and it is a long trailer!

My World - More Christmas baby

Christmas Eve wearing Daddy's hat

I planned to post these Christmas images of Bryce last week, but preempted them when Beth stopped by for a surprise visit. Our Great Grandson delighted us over Christmas with his curiosity and intense interest in all that was happening. I had forgotten just how fast the little ones develop and the range of interest and abilites they have.

This is interesting!

My World - Christmas in the Carolinas

Bryce with Grandma

We abandoned the cold of Maryland for the cold of South Carolina for Christmas to share in Bryce's first Christmas. He took great interest in the whole event and delighted us all.

First ever Christmas snow in central SC

We stopped on the way home at John's and Lynne's in North Carolina on the way home. More snow and, as always, a delightful visit. Thanks everyone for making this a delightful Christmas for us!

Window Views - Then and now

On December 20, 2009 my rear window view was the above. We had record snowfall for December that weekend. Last Thursday my view was white, but only an inch or two.

I wish you all pleasant views
through you windows
and a very Merry Christmas.

My World - Early white Christmas

Sunday we celebrated Christmas with family visiting from South Carolina. Friday's snow fall gave us a truly white Christmas. These grandsons are teenagers (and granddaugter soon will be 24) so the day started slowly with morning coffee. Opening presents was followed by freeing the cars from the 18 or so inches of snow; and then more playing games. Marianne fixed a delicious Christmas dinner that was enjoyed by all.
