This was one of three waves of Canada Geese that flew over Tuesday as the sun was setting. I think they were heading to farm fields east of Frederick to bed down for the night. These shots were taken at a shopping center, but I have also seen large groups over our house. They were squawking loudly, seemly an argument about where to go. Canada Geese are in the area year round, but during winter the numbers increase greatly, hence my conclusion that these have come south for the winter.
I love to see them, when I can.
ReplyDeleteThey are not here (North Florida/South Georgia) unless they are migrating...and then I get to see them.
Beautiful!
Nice sky-photos!
ReplyDeleteHappy SkyWatcFriday to you!
It is cool to hear and see these large flocks of Geese. Usually you can hear them before seeing them. Great captures, Lew!
ReplyDeleteWe have alot of these that people have fed and now they are permanent residents.

These are large skeins of geese, beautifully captured against the evening sky.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sky Watch,
Merisi
Amazing! I don't get to see this in my S CA skies.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see geese in the sky again. Most geese leave Norway in the winter. And their leaving and coming more or less defines the seasons.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the geese in motion, they are a beautiful sight
ReplyDeleteA wonderful capture on the flock in flight.
ReplyDelete"OH Canada, our home and native land". So that's where all our geese are! Great shots Lew.
