Sky Watch Friday - The morning after
Last Friday I posted the sunset of March 22. This week is the sunrise of March 23. I saw the moon in the dawn sky and went out to take a few shots. I then walked into the field for a clear view of the horizon where the sun would soon appear. There were contrails from the early morning flights that can be seen in some of these shots. And the last is a few to the southwest of the sun beginning to light the field.

Not much beats a peaceful country morning. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThat was like literally watching the sun rise! Stunning and beautiful and very peaceful! Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteThat bottom shot makes me want to walk across the field. Lovely, to be sure.
ReplyDeleteFantastic sunrise.

I love the last picture of the sunrise-kissed field.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is right up my street those dark hues, but the last one suckerpunched me with those fabulous glowing suntones.
ReplyDeleteThat first one is super with the contrail lit up.
ReplyDeleteA whole series of beautiful shots, I enjoyed them all. Thank you and Happy SkyWatch Friday.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love your captures.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that one - I much prefer the sunrise to the sunset.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Lew, the last one is my favourite.

ReplyDeletelove that last shot...beautiful.
one day when i am off work i want to sit in an open area and watch the sun rise...and see what kind of shots i can get...thinking i will need to travel a bit but, i think i will do that.
thanks as always for sharing with us.
Looks like the field hasn't been planted yet. Still the possibility of frost?
ReplyDeleteWonderful sunrise series, Lew.
ReplyDeleteLove the first one.
Have a nice weekend.
Just lovely, sometimes it's worth the early rise.
ReplyDeleteLovely. For a long time I have wanted to take a photo from the same spot every 5 minutes for an entire day, from early light to sunset to se how the sky changes. I've never had a whole free day let alone the stamina to sit that long to take the shots, but maybe some day with the help of a friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely shots! I love the progression of the sunrise.
ReplyDeleteGosh, this is fantastic. I felt as if I was right there watching the the sun go up. How spectacular is that!!??!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo with the glowing contrail is amazing!
All fantastic shots, but I quite love the serenity in the last shot. I can just hear the quiet country morning.
