Sky Watch - Rainbow, clouds and plane

We had a shower last weekend with the sun shining under the clouds giving us a personal rainbow in our backyard. It lasted only for a few minutes before other clouds blocked the sun. The billowing clouds below were captured a couple of hours before the rainbow.

 

Header Challenge - The other side

On the other side (challenge proposed by Kathy) of the fence along our backyard is a farm field. Once a dairy farm, it is now used to grow corn, wheat, and soy beans. I have posted many images of this field from our yard. My header is a view from the other side of the field and below is a view from a third side. 

We usually look at blossoms from the front, but they also have an other side.

The Kennedy 50 cent coins normally had an eagle on the other side, but in 1976 Independence Hall was on the other side.

Header Challenge - Carnival

Summer is carnival time around Frederick County. Fire and Rescue service is largely volunteer staffed, with over 30 volunteer companies in the county. Carnivals are one of the ways these companies raise funds to support their operation. The town of Walkersville, near us, held its carnival the week of the Fourth of July. Rides, games and plenty of food were available for our enjoyment. AND it was a great PHOTO opportunity. We have taken the grand-kids to enjoy the fun when they were visiting.

Returning to base
