Our World - First Saturday

First Saturday in Frederick brings out the festive downtown, with businesses open late, outdoor seating at restaurants, and music along the streets. The ladies above were passing out info for The New Adventures of Alice in Wonderland appearing later this month at the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Below I found my self in a window.

Studio 6 has provided music on many Saturday nights. And the balloon and car reflections fit nicely in this window display.

Header Challenge - Smiling and dancing

My header is our smiling great grandson dancing at his Mom and dad's wedding. He watched the other two dancing for awhile and then joined them.

Granddaughter (a Disney fan) smiling at her rehearsal.

The newly weds smiling.

All smiles from the bride's family.

Graduation smiles

Marianne smiling at great-grandson's first birthday.

Our World - Road open again

The road crew was here today to smooth out the road,

 add a layer of gravel,

  repair the shoulders,

 and reopen the road!
The paving crew is to finish the job Wednesday.

Sky Watch - In the sky

A tree full of birds

This contraption has graced our skyline for the past week as it pumped 16 truckloads of concrete into the ground around the sinkhole that appeared in the street. Below, the crew is reading it for transport after finishing the job. Next week another crew will repave the street.

Header Challenge - DIPTYCH

In the old world, a diptych was two panels hinged together, usually with paintings or carvings to tell a story. When photography came along a pair of photos in frames were hinged together. I thought I might have one from Mom and Dad's collection of photos, but could not find it. Here the hinge is missing, but the effect is the same. My youngest grandson is using the rocking chair that Mom used to rock me to sleep many years go.

The story in these two diptych is that our winter is not over. The right panel was taken March 25; the left panel was taken a couple of days earlier.

Our World - Canada geese

We have Canada geese year round, but in winter the numbers increase tremendously. The above geese were heading east on February 15. The geese below were walking through a pasture today (March 24).
