Header Challenge - Spring colors

 

Mother's Day is the traditional date when it is safe plant new flowers outside and a date Marianne anxiously awaits each spring. Old man winter sometimes over stays his reservation, but the flowers generally survive. Marianne wants more color in the yard, so we visited the garden stores last weekend. We are adding a few azaleas in front of the house, some annuals scattered here and there and a bunch of potted plants on the porch and desk. Now as soon as the rain stops we will be digging in the dirt!

Our World - New flowers

We got the planters and flower pots out of storage and then went to find some things to put in them. We also got some new bushes to in front of the house. Marianne will be filling the pots and I will be doing the azaleas and English laurel.

Our World - Colleen and Ron's wedding

 

This past weekend Marianne and I were delighted to attend the wedding of our niece Colleen.  This was a merging of two families and the wedding party included lots of family members. The wedding was held at Dorey Recreation Center near Richmond, VA where an old farm barn was turned into a very nice event center and the farm fields became sports fields. We are delighted for Colleen and Ron and the wedding was also a family reunion with our relatives and the delightful addition of Ron's family to the clan.

Monday our TV and Internet went out. The COMCAST folks here are completing the repair job, A too large truck pull down the stop lights and other cables at the intersection in the background.
