My World - Groundhog days
Here are some shots of our resident groundhog that lives in a hole (actually several holes connected by tunnels) in the field behind our house. The first two shot were taken in October from inside when he scampered to the neighbors yard to grab an apple and sat in the sun enjoying his meal. Then he climbed up the tree to pose for a face shot. Then two weeks ago I spotted him wandering out in the winter wheat. As he headed back to the hole near the fence, he kept an eye to the sky where two turkey vultures were circling at the far end of the field.

PhotoHunt - Juicy apples
The apples from our local orchards have been juicy (and delicious) this year. We have had cider in the fridge since September and bought a bushel and a half of apples. Some we ate and some are in the freezer to have all winter. Marianne made apple pumpkin bread, butterscotch apple cake and a bunch of applesauce (also frozen). My header was taken at Catoctin Mountain Orchard.com on my last stop for cider.

My World - First Saturday in November
Downtown Frederick holds an open house (and business) the first Saturday of each month with businesses open late and activities, refreshments and entertainment. The ladies above are members of the Mothers Offering Mothers Support (MOMS) organization. They were giving away homemade goodies and asking for support for the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation. These Moms have friends with children brain tumors. I found this is an organization that I can support and enjoyed the homemade brownies.
The window displays at Ecclectibles are always exquisite. The three story building in this window display is a model of the store itself (and very much the way it looked after the snow storms last winter!).
