On Monday we got an inch or so of snow falling gently through the morning and early afternoon. The snow left us with a thin white blanket; but about 15 miles west it contributed to a major accident that killed two people and injured more. About 40 vehicles were involved closing I-70 westbound for about eleven hours. 
I love it how snow can make everything look so beautiful. A pity though that along with weather such as yours, accidents also follow ...
ReplyDeleteI love a good snowy landscape! When I moved back to Sweden for three years in the early 2000s, I was hoping for white winters, but we only had a few selected days here and there. Now I'm back in Africa, and the only white winter we get is a dust storm!

ReplyDeleteI find it hard to blame accidents on a natural phenomenon of this kind. After all it was not the snow that was driving. Human error or mechanical failure, another kind of human error, bears the brunt of responsibility. The road may have been slippery, but then drivers need to be aware of this and practice added caution.

Those are beautiful shots. It's snowing in NC now where I live.
ReplyDeleteThe art museum you mentioned visiting in downtown Raleigh is the one I grew up visiting. It was there for a long time (I believe from the late 1800s or early 1900s until the 1980s).
Lew: That looks like a nice snow and so clean when new.

looks like what we got...though you had a tad more. our snow was of the dry variety and melted quite quickly.
